Kendrick Norris, PhD, NCPsyA, IAAP, is a graduate of the C.G. Jung Institute of New York and a certified Imago Relationship Therapist. He works with individuals and couples. Jungian analysis addresses problems in the realms of love, work, and play. Psychotherapy literally means—and is about—tending to the soul. We all have deep needs: to be known, to love and to be loved, and to experience meaning and joy in our lives. When these desires are frayed and frustrated because of past wounds or a current situation, because of depression or anxiety, because of fear, shame, or low self-esteem—a Jungian therapeutic approach offers many healing avenues. Sharing one’s feelings, thoughts, and memories with a trained therapist who is open, caring, and fully engaged is the fertile ground for healing and wholeness. The resulting relationship is not just mutually respectful; it becomes a temenos, a sacred container where deep understanding and healing take place. Dr. Norris has worked at the Pastoral Counseling Center of St. Raphael’s Hospital and Family Counseling of Greater New Haven, and has been in private practice in Guilford for 30 years. He has three graduate degrees in clinical psychology and pastoral psychology, 40 years of pastoral experience, and is Minster Emeritus of the First Congregational Church of Guilford.
