Acupuncture

Is a treatment modality that uses micro-thin, sterile needles that are inserted into the body at specific locations in order to either strengthen were there is weakness or to create movement were there is blockage. The decision of were to put the needles is derived from using the Oriental Medical model of diagnosis.


Aromatherapy

A treatment where essential oils are used to bring about a desired effect by either smelling the oils or by the application of oils on the body. Essential oils are made by extracting oil from plants usually through some distillation process.


Ashiatsu

This is known as the deepest, most luxurious form of barefoot massage.


Chiropractic Care

Herbal Medicine

Is a therapy where the practitioner creates a formula or recipe using different roots, stems or leaves to bring about a desired result. The decision of which herbs to use is derived after a thorough assessment of the individual and their specific needs.


Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy, or hypnosis, is defined as a natural, yet altered state of consciousness characterized but guided relaxation and focused concentration, similar to that experienced while daydreaming or concentrating and oblivious distraction. This allow access to the highly suggestible subconscious mind by quieting the conscious mind. The American Medical Association has recognized Hypnotherapy as a valid medical treatment since 1958 and it is often used as an aid in psychotherapy. It helps with psychotherapy because the hypnotic state allows people to explore painful thoughts, feelings and memories they might have hidden from their conscious minds. In addition, hypnosis enables people to perceive some things differently, such as blocking an awareness of pain or desire to overeat or smoke. It can improve the success of other treatments for many conditions, including but not limited to; depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, stress, PTSD, grief and loss, fears and phobias.


Integrative Manual Therapy

Integrative Manual Therapy uses a systems approach to address dis-ease in the body. Techniques include, but are not limited to: Advanced CranioSacral Therapy, muscle energy, lymphatic drainage, visceral manipulation, adrenal system balancing, somato-emotional release and strain-counterstrain.


Jin Shin Jyutsu

The art of harmonizing and balancing the universal life force in the body, facilitated through touch. Blocks to optimal health are found through body reading and organ pulse reading to discern the hands on flow patterns to utilize and restore the body to its natural state of well being.

Shiatsu

Is an acupressure system where the practitioner uses pressure at specific locations to help support body functioning, release of muscular stress and or mental, emotional stress.


Tui Na

Tui Na is an integral component of Chinese Medicine. Tui Na's literal translation is "pushing and grabbing."  In practice, Tui Na is a remedial massage that corrects specific physical ailments of the body. The ailments may be musculoskeletal in origin or they may be internal organ pathologies. Examples of conditions treated by Tui Na are headaches, back pains, ankle sprains, scoliosis, hypertension, digestive disorders and insomnia. Following a Tui Na treatment, most patients report feeling re-energized and relaxed.
